Little Comets- Worry
The Vaccines- If You Wanna
With both performance videos the most important convention is the relationship between the music and the visuals. Each jump cut is made on the beat of each song, ensuring that the tempo of the music and video match. Another important aspect of performance is to place an emphasis on the actual band, this is to enhance their branding and make their music/ faces memorable. In both videos, there are several close ups of the lead singers as well as close ups of the other members followed by shots of their instruments. This is a form of iconography as the individual band members will later be recognised for thee instruments shown. Voyeurism is not present in either of the videos, likely because they are both male bands, I think this convention would be present in a performance video had it been with a female singer.
