Preliminary Task

The task to begin the music video coursework is to recreate a section of a professional video. The clip must be between 20 and 30 seconds long and must replicate all of the shots and timings used.

The song we chose to replicate Riptide by Vance Joy. The obvious reason for our choice was the fact that we liked the song, and that it fit with our indie genre. After watching the music video we were even more positive about our choice, as it is so unusual. Each shot in the video is a literal visual for the lyrics, for example; Vance Joy sings 'comes unstuck' and the shot shows two ice lollies being pulled apart. Both myself and Holly liked the 'quirky' imagery and also thought that this technique would make for a simplistic first project.

Here is the official video for Riptide- Vance Joy;
