When deciding on the 'army training' concept, one of our initial influences was the BBC1 show 'Our Girl'. Released in March 2013, it tells the story of Molly Dawes (Lacey Turner) discovering the army and leaving her East London home. As a group, we felt the storyline was powerful and well as empowering, as it followed a woman's journey into a male orientated world. The fact that Molly is also 18 makes it easier for us to relate as we're of the same age and a similar background.
We loved the 'rundown' look of London in the first episode of 'Our Girl' and we are hoping to recreate it in our music video. We want to begin with landscape shots of tower blocks, rubbish tips and graffiti. Then we will have a transition throughout, with our character running through fields and forest agility courses.
